Scope of the role
The
Junior Mechanical Design Engineer
supports end-to-end development, partnering with nearby suppliers to accelerate learning and delivery.
Create SolidWorks 3D CAD and detailed drawings for production.
Design plastic components for injection moulding and assembly automation.
Prototype, plan tests, analyse results and iterate.
Support DFM and tolerance discussions with suppliers.
Collaborate with electronics, firmware and industrial design colleagues.

Proven project work as a
Junior Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Engineer
or
Design Engineer
.
Degree in
Mechanical Engineering
from a recognised university.
SolidWorks proficiency, sound drawings practice, and tolerance stacks.
DFM for injection moulding; exposure to FEA and hand calculations.
Salary and benefits
35,000-40,000 basic salary

Paid overtime and flexitime around core hours 10:00-15:00.
22 days' holiday plus bank holidays, rising to 25.
