Job Description

Asphalt Surfacing are looking to employ an Junior Operations Assistant to work alongside our Operations Manager. This will be based in our Dursley office.

This position would suit an individual in the infancy of their career, a school / sixth form leaver looking to pursue a career in Construction.

Asphalt Surfacing are based in Dursley and work on projects in South Wales and the South West of England.

The Operations Manager is responsible for the daily planning and management of the department.

Your role will be to support the Operations Manager. The Operations Managers roles include:

-The logistics of ensuring the correct plant is on site at the correct time

-Liasing with asphalt suppliers to ensure that the correct materials are ordered and delivered to site

-Managing Site Supervisors

-Liaising with the Commercial Team to ensure that customers' demands are met

-Overcoming any difficulties presented by the supply chain

-Ensuring that Health & Safety legislation is complied with

The role will also include some commercial tasks.

Whilst this is not an apprenticeship we would be open to running this alongside a College Course for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will hold a GCSE grade 6 or above in Maths and English and have an interest in Construction. They will also be familiar and able to use Microsoft Word and Excel. Given the rural locality of our offices the ideal candidate would benefit from holding a valid UK driving licence.
