The Job Mission
This is a hybrid role, open to those within commutable distance of Bridgwater, or willing to relocate with support from a small relocation allowance.
As a
Junior Piping Configuration Engineer
, you'll support the accurate management of piping design from early planning through to installation. You'll be guided by senior colleagues while gaining valuable experience in a high-profile engineering environment.
Support reviews of design maturity and readiness for construction activities
Work with senior engineers to maintain accurate piping configuration records
Track design changes and open points to ensure timely resolution
Assist in preparing and updating technical documentation for handovers
Liaise with project managers, engineers, and contractors to share accurate data
Help administer digital tools used to manage configuration and design data
Provide input into regular engineering meetings and progress reviews
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
Basic knowledge of piping systems, design, or configuration processes
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

Placement or early experience in engineering or industrial projects
Familiarity with technical drawings or design documentation
Understanding of design change management processes
