Tribal is a leading EdTech business providing market leading software solutions to the global education market. We strive to research, develop and deliver the products, services and solutions needed by education institutes worldwide to support their primary goals of educating students, providing optimum learning experiences and ultimately delivering successful outcomes.

Tribal's SITS platform is built for higher education institutions striving to elevate the entire student journey. From enrolment to graduation, SITS empowers universities to seamlessly collect, analyse, and act on critical data--turning insights into meaningful action. It's more than just software; it's a transformational tool that streamlines operations, enhances collaboration, and ensures every student receives a personalised, outcome-driven experience.

The Role

As a Senior or Configuration Engineer, your role is to lead and drive the development and delivery of configuration-based SITS solutions that support best practice.

We welcome applications from Configuration Engineers who may not necessarily consider themselves senior quite yet!

Your duties will include:

The development and configuration of web-based solutions using SITS System tools (SRL, Vistas, Tasking, Stu-Talk etc), guided by user requirements and design specifications, ensuring consistency with coding standards and established UI guidelines.

Designing, implementing, testing and documenting system changes in line with best practice and approved development methodologies.

Providing advanced third-line support for the SITS platform, diagnosing and resolving software issues efficiently to maintain service continuity.

Maintaining accurate and timely progress updates within the tracking system to support project transparency and coordination.

Promoting and encouraging inventive approaches to configuration, looking at new methods to improve system capability and performance.

Identifying when a configuration-led approach is unsuitable, advocating for a coded solution to meet technical or business needs.

Participating in the design of new features, offering input that enhances system architecture and overall functional design.

Assisting with essential development activities including version control, build processes and release management to support smooth deployment.

Mentoring junior Configuration Engineers / team members, sharing your expertise and supporting consistent delivery of configuration-based solutions.

Helping organise and align development phases with project timelines, ensuring effective collaboration across teams.

Contributing your technical insight during pre-sales discussions where required, helping illustrate platform potential and configuration capabilities.

The Skills You'll need:

Experience working with our SITS Platform in a Developer / Technical Analyst capacity.

High degree of technical ability when developing using SITS System Tools such as Tasking, Vistas, SRLs, TUPs and Stu-Talk.

Thorough understanding of appropriate design patterns.

Strong coaching and mentoring skills

Demonstrable experience of designing and developing SITS System tools-based solutions in use by universities.

It would be great if you had:

Strong knowledge of web accessibility testing.
