We are currently looking for a Positive Behaviour Support Assistant to join our dynamic PBS team.

Job Overview:


As a Positive Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting individuals with complex needs, helping to implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies, and contributing to the development of individualized care plans. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals, learn from their expertise, and develop your skills in the field of PBS and support for vulnerable adults. You will be directly involved in providing daily support to people in our care and assisting in creating a positive, nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Assist the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) team in delivering individualized PBS plans for clients with learning disabilities, autism, and/or mental health conditions. Support the implementation of behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and reduce incidents of challenging behaviour. Observe, monitor, and document the progress of individuals under your care, ensuring all necessary records are kept up to date. Collaborate with senior team members to assess, plan, and review care plans tailored to the individual's needs and goals. Work closely with clients to encourage independence, improve social skills, and support daily living activities. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to enhance the quality of care. Provide feedback to the PBS team regarding the effectiveness of interventions and strategies in place. Ensure all interactions with clients are respectful, supportive, and person-centred.

Requirements:



A minimum of a degree in Psychology or a relevant social sciences course (e.g., Social Work, Sociology). Previous experience working with vulnerable adults, particularly those with learning disabilities, autism, or mental health conditions. Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and a willingness to learn and develop expertise in this area. A valid driving license and access to a car for travel between supported living locations. An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this role. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of the individuals we support.

Desirable:



Experience working in a supported living or care setting. Experience implementing PBS strategies or managing challenging behaviour. Familiarity with the Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding procedures.
