About Positive Behaviour Support
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is an approach to supporting individuals with learning disabilities and complex support needs. It is person-centered and provides a basis for understanding the messages conveyed by behaviours that challenge.
PBS is based on the understanding that behaviours that challenge are a communication from those individuals. The most effective ways to respond are to listen and make changes to their support and care.
PBS seeks to change cultures, develop more helpful environments, empower people and improve support.
