We're seeking a versatile and motivated Junior Product Designer/Developer/Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about product design and engineering, who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to innovative lighting solutions. This is a hybrid position, combining remote work with regular attendance at our Reading office for team collaboration, product reviews, and hands-on prototyping.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the design, development, and engineering of new lighting products and components.
Create and manage 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings in
SolidWorks
.
Produce high-quality visualisations and product renders using
KeyShot
to support internal reviews, presentations, and marketing.
Develop compelling visual presentations, mock-ups, and documentation using
Adobe Creative Suite
(Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
Collaborate with internal teams including production, operations, and sales to ensure product feasibility and performance.
Communicate effectively with a
global supply chain
, including suppliers and manufacturers, to manage prototypes and production timelines.
Support
thermal and photometric testing
and validation of new products.
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of
product-related website content
in collaboration with internal teams.
Balance and prioritise
multiple design and development projects simultaneously
, from concept through to production.
Ensure all designs meet quality, safety, and performance standards.
Key Skills & Experience
Proficiency in
SolidWorks
(3D modelling, assemblies, and technical drawings).
Experience with
Adobe Creative Suite
(Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
Experience using
KeyShot
for product rendering and visualisation.
Strong foundation in
product engineering
, design for manufacture, and testing methodologies.
Understanding of
thermal management
and
photometric principles
in product design is highly desirable.
Experience supporting
website development and content updates
related to product visuals or technical information.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners.
Organised, proactive, and comfortable working on
multiple concurrent projects

Desirable Qualifications
Degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related discipline.
1-3 years of experience in a design or engineering role (graduate-level candidates with strong portfolios also considered).
Experience working in the lighting industry or with electronic products is a plus.
