Duties and Responsibilities



Assist with the delivery of the project in accordance with the tender and agreed programme of works. Assist with the production of method statements, task briefings and all other associated documentation within the prescribed project timescales. Ensure that all planned activities are compliant with the relevant Trackwork policies and procedures, conditions and the contract specific specifications. Be responsible for operating within the practice and procedures of the quality and environmental systems. Preparation / submission of works programme as required in co-ordination with the Project Engineer. Monitor and report on project progress in accordance with project requirements. Attend internal and external meetings as required. Assist with the preparation of Tenders. Follow all advice issued by line managers and implement necessary measures in order to reduce the environmental impact of Trackwork railway engineering operations. Alert management of any non-conformance or deficiency in quality, materials, service or workmanship. Site surveys and the provision of "setting out" information to the site teams in accordance with design / construction drawings. Help with the submission of technical queries to client and maintenance of TQ register. Undertake site surveys and the production of "as-built" drawings for Trackwork designed works or as required by client and record on contract file. Ensure that survey information is suitably identified, recorded and maintained in files, in accordance with Trackwork policy. Arrange for the periodic calibration / repair of surveying instruments and the maintenance of records. Ensure all works are constructed in accordance with client specifications and standards. Help with the preparation and submission of requisitions for plant / materials / services. Arrange and ensure completion of consent to dig form prior to excavation works and Hot Work Permit, prior to hot works. Maintenance of site and file records, day files etc. including Q&A Forms, correspondence, works variations etc. and issue of copies to office admin and support staff (for onward transmission to QS files) Monitor transport, plant, materials and services suppliers' performance and submit non-conformance reports as necessary. Management of site hours and time sheets on a weekly basis.
