Role Overview:
We are seeking a qualified
Quantity Surveyor
with
5+ years of experience
to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project costs, preparing contracts, monitoring profitability, and supporting the delivery of high-quality developments in line with client objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare project instructions, ensuring client objectives are consistently met.
Price and assess EAI's for minor works and evaluate project variations, considering both cost and programme impacts.
Prepare
cost valuations
at each stage of the project and provide regular financial reports to the Line Manager and client.
Participate in site meetings and collaborate with contractors to maintain project quality and compliance with planning and regulatory requirements.
Liaise with Marketing Agents to ensure the client's marketing brief is executed effectively.
Draft and issue contractual correspondence under JCT Design and Build terms, liaising with legal teams to ensure compliance.
Manage tender processes
, including compiling tenders, liaising with tenderers, analyzing tender returns, and preparing recommendations.
Measure changes instructed under the contract (additions and omissions).
Manage BSF applications and assist in cladding remedial works alongside Project Architects/Design & Project Managers.
Maintain comprehensive contract documentation for client protection and funder reporting.
Complete daily timesheets and monitor project profitability.
Identify and report project risks from site acquisition through construction completion.
Assist in ensuring all projects are delivered within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field

MRICS or equivalent professional accreditation preferred
.
Strong knowledge of
JCT contracts
and experience applying them in practice.
Proven experience in construction project management and cost control.
Experience:
Minimum
5 years' experience
as a Quantity Surveyor in construction, refurbishment, or property development projects.
Demonstrated experience in managing contracts, tenders, project valuations, and variations.
Experience liaising with contractors, clients, and legal teams.
Skills & Competencies:
Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Competent in relevant technology and software (e.g., MS Office, CostX, or similar).
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multi-task in fast-paced environments.
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
