Overview

Contract Group is a UK-based construction consultancy providing Estimating, Quantity Surveying and Contract Advisory services to developers, main contractors and subcontractors across the country.

We are looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team and support our consultants on a range of live projects. The role offers hands-on experience across all stages of the construction process, from early cost planning and tendering through to project delivery and final accounts.

This position would suit someone currently studying or recently qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related subject who is keen to gain practical industry experience. Full training and mentoring will be provided.

Responsibilities

Assist with preparing cost plans, tenders and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) Support estimating, measurement and procurement activities on live projects Collect and review supplier and subcontractor quotations Help manage project costs, valuations and variations under supervision Review drawings and specifications to support measurement and pricing work Maintain accurate records, spreadsheets and cost data Attend client meetings and construction sites with senior consultants

Skills and Requirements

Genuine interest in construction, quantity surveying or commercial management Some education or background in construction is required so we can understand your level of study or experience Strong numerical, analytical and IT skills (particularly Google Workspace) Good attention to detail, accuracy and willingness to learn Clear and confident communication skills Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (required for site visits) A valid CSCS card, or the ability to obtain one within one month of starting Must have the right to work in the UK
