We are a family-owned SME construction company working predominantly for private clients. We build new homes, carry out extensions, remodelling and refurbishment work. We also carry out small scale speculative housing developments.
We are now looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to support the growth and our dedication for continual improvement as part of a well-motivated, personal and tight knit team.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Generally working on between 3 and 10 projects of varying sizes at any one time.
Projects will vary in size, complexity and there will be differing level of information provided to which to work from. The information to work from could be in the form of working drawings with a comprehensive specification to nothing more than planning drawings and sketches, with a client brief.
Coordination with Management and staff to produce a good quotation will be required.
Take off/measure material and labour quantities for the whole project process.
Obtain prices/quotations as required for materials and sub-contract packages.
Schedule materials for deliveries and place orders.
Employ/engage the successful sub-contractors and plan project timings.
Engage with Clients, Architects and Structural Engineers to get an accurate project specification.
Check materials specifications and construction practices with Building Control & Warranty providers to ensure specifications adhere to building regulation/warranty providers conditions.
Carry out monthly valuations on site against the quotations provided.
Raise invoices and valuations.
Daily/weekly updated prices and quotations for changes and additions on sites as they occur.
Strive for the continued improvement of the company, its image, professional standards, quality and general standing in the industry
To actively be involved in taking the business forward over the next 3 years.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR;

Educational
Previous training and a recognised qualification.
Occupational
Training in Quantity Surveying roles, procedures and techniques.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
SALARY:
20,000 - 30,000 or Pro-rata
HOURS:
8.5 hours a day , negotiable start/fiish times
ANNUAL LEAVE:
20 days per year pro rata from starting date, plus bank holidays.
PLACE OF WORK:
North Northamptonshire based office, projects in Northamptonshire, Huntingdonshire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire.
