The Role



As a Junior Sales Engineer, you will help shape the high-performance connectivity solutions that power our customers' success. Working closely with our Sales teams, you will ensure every solution is technically robust, commercially aligned and deliverable. Acting as the first point of contact for technical guidance, you'll collaborate across Sales, Delivery and Engineering to validate feasibility and support a seamless move from design into implementation.



This role offers an excellent platform to accelerate your technical and customer-facing skills. You'll gain exposure to a wide range of customer requirements, learn directly from experienced engineers, and take on increasing responsibility as you develop. What will you be doing?




Act as a primary point of contact for technical questions from Sales teams Assist with high-volume quoting, drafting technical orders and validating feasibility Gather technical data to support bid responses and solution proposals Verify product, network and off-net (3rd-party) service specifications Work closely with Vendor Management and Fibre Planning to align on workflow and support service availability Ensure clear handover of solutions to the Deployment Team, maintaining solution integrity and cost effectiveness Support accurate capacity/lead-time planning with Architecture & Engineering teams Engage with customers to clarify requirements and respond to technical and commercial requests Capture organisational and technical learning to support process improvement Escalate more complex or bespoke solutions to senior Sales Engineers and the Sales Engineering Manager Collaborate seamlessly across Sales, Delivery and Engineering functions during design and delivery phases

What do we want from you?



You will have:




A few years of Telecommunications industry experience in SE or another area such as, Field-based/Manual Telecoms, Civils (Fibre Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related), wishing to transition to Sales Engineering

OR

relevant technical academic background (Telecoms, Networking, Electronics or related discipline)

You will also have:




Strong skills with Microsoft Office, Google applications (e.g., Google Earth/GIS tools), OSS / project management applications Effective interpersonal and communication skills with a professional customer-facing approach Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment A can-do mindset with a growth mentality Fluent English (written and spoken)

Advantage to have, but not essential:




Experience with Salesforce.com or network inventory tools Previous involvement in network engineering, service delivery/activation or pre-sales support roles Foundational understanding of: Optical networking (DWDM, CWDM, OTN), Dark Fibre, Ethernet and Internet services
