About the opportunity An established residential property management company, founded in 2004, is seeking a Junior Accountant to join their Service Charge Accounts team. This organisation has built a reputation for delivering outstanding customer experiences whilst maintaining genuine care at the heart of everything they do. What makes the role exceptional This position offers the perfect blend of technical accounting development and client-facing experience within the specialised field of property management. You'll be managing complete financial portfolios for residential estates, working directly with Estate Management teams, external accountants, and occasionally clients and leaseholders. The role provides comprehensive exposure to service charge accounting, from budget preparation through to year-end accounts, giving you invaluable experience in a growing sector.
Key responsibilities
Prepare and load accurate annual service charge budgets for property portfolios
Process billing for service charges, ground rent, and additional fees to leaseholders
Prepare comprehensive year-end service charge accounts
Collaborate with external accountants during account reviews and audits
Manage utility and insurance recharges to leaseholders
Handle tax administration and compliance requirements
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
Support the Estate Management team with financial queries
Requirements
Relevant accounting experience (service charge experience advantageous but not essential)
Part-qualified AAT/CIMA/ACCA/ACA with commitment to continued professional development
Strong numeracy and analytical skills with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (Qube experience beneficial)
Collaborative approach with ability to work across departments
Professional attitude with customer service focus
Organised approach to managing multiple priorities
