Job Description

Due to continued expansion, Skips R Us Ltd have created a new role of Junior Shipping Clerk within their busy weighbridge and transport function. Although an entry-level role the right candidate will receive extensive opportunities for development, training, and career progression.

Job Type - Full Time/Permanent

Hours - 45hours per week

Salary - 13.50 per hour increasing to 14 on completion of 6-month probationary period.

This role will involve assisting with the operation and managing the weighbridge & transport function across the company's three divisions of skips service, recycled aggregates, and biomass production.

The main duties of the role are as follows:

Provide a point of contact for site induction and visitor control. Responding to email & telephone enquiries. Order processing. Arrange delivery & collection of skips and roll on bins. Consult with customers to arrange bulk collections and waste / product delivery. Record all vehicles entering/leaving site. Weighbridge duties, recording weights, waste type and completing relevant documentation. Completing TFS documentation & Annex VII Forms. Filing/archiving records. Using company software to assist in deliveries/collections and customer recording. Processing customer payments. Consulting with the accounts dept. for any queries. General administrative duties and customer service to ensure effective running of the office.
Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Adhering to all Health and Safety compliance policies and procedures in place.

Any other reasonable request by a manager to assist with company's activities.

Essential Criteria:



Highly proficient in IT to include Microsoft Office packages & Outlook. Excellent communication skills both written & verbal.
To be able work on your own initiative.

Diligence and a positive and 'can-do' attitude.

Flexible for occasional Saturday/weekend work.

Ability to take direction.

Sage experience or willing to learn same

A proficient level of Health & Safety knowledge and experience.

Desirable Criteria:



Experience using Sage 50 or other bookkeeping software or the willingness to learn.

Experience with Waste Logics waste management software

Customer service experience

Administrative duties experience.
