Job Overview


We are a UK-based software development company specialising in heavy industrial weighing and stock management systems, with an emphasis within the Grain Store / Agriculture sector. Our software solutions integrate process automation, data collection, and real-time reporting to help clients in manufacturing, logistics, and processing industries operate efficiently and accurately.

We are seeking a

Junior Software Developer

to join our growing team and contribute to the design, development, and support of our bespoke software products.

Key Responsibilities



Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of software applications using

Microsoft Visual Studio

. Write, test, and debug code primarily in

C#

. Work with

Microsoft SQL Server

, including stored procedures, queries, and database design. Develop and maintain

SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)

reports using

Report Builder

. Collaborate with the support and development teams to investigate and resolve software issues. Participate in software testing, deployment, and documentation processes. Assist in integrating communication interfaces such as serial communications (RS232/RS485) and TCP/IP network communications. Follow best practices in code management, version control, and software documentation. Contribute ideas to improve software performance, reliability, and user experience.

Essential Skills & Experience



Experience in commercial software development, writing desktop applications using C# WinForms. Working knowledge of

Microsoft Visual Studio

development environment. Basic understanding of

Microsoft SQL Server

and writing SQL queries. Experience or familiarity with

SSRS Report Builder

. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Good understanding of general software development principles (object-oriented programming, debugging, version control, etc.). Ability to communicate clearly with team members and non-technical users. Full UK driving licence (for occasional site visits).

Desirable Skills



Understanding of serial communication protocols (RS232, RS485) and TCP/IP network communications. Experience working with industrial systems, weighing equipment, or data acquisition devices. Exposure to API development, data integration, or hardware interfacing. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

About us

Pay: 28,000.00-32,000.00 per year
