We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Junior Chef to join our culinary team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop their skills in a dynamic kitchen environment. As a Junior Chef, you will assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes while ensuring that food safety standards are consistently met. You will work closely with the Head Chef and senior kitchen staff, gaining valuable experience in food production and restaurant operations.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes and standards. Maintain high levels of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations. Support the Head Chef in supervising kitchen staff and managing daily operations. Participate in menu planning and contribute creative ideas for new dishes. Help with inventory management, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during busy periods. Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.

Skills

Strong understanding of food safety practices and kitchen hygiene. Leadership abilities to help guide junior staff and foster a collaborative team environment. Experience or knowledge in culinary techniques and food production processes. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members. Previous experience in a restaurant or similar kitchen setting is advantageous but not essential. A genuine passion for cooking and a desire to learn from experienced chefs.
