Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation. This position requires strong leadership abilities, excellent culinary skills, and a commitment to food safety and hospitality.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and production activities. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient workflow. Oversee food preparation processes to maintain quality and consistency in dishes. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Maintain high standards of hygiene and sanitation throughout the kitchen. Handle any kitchen-related issues that may arise during service.

Qualifications

A minimum of 2 years proven experience as a Junior Sous Chef or in a similar role within a busy kitchen environment. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary arts, and food safety standards. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
