Responsibilities



Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure effective team management. Oversee food production processes, ensuring that dishes are prepared to the highest standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety protocols. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes. Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning efficiently. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Support front-of-house staff during service, ensuring timely delivery of meals.

Requirements



Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting. Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of food preparation techniques. Previous supervisory experience, demonstrating effective leadership abilities. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. A passion for cooking and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes. Strong communication skills, fostering collaboration within the kitchen team. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
