Job Summary


We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food production and presentation. This position requires strong culinary skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining food safety and hygiene standards. The Sous Chef will also be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, assisting in menu planning, and ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen during service.

Duties



Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management Supervise and train kitchen staff in food preparation and cooking techniques Ensure all food production meets quality standards for taste, presentation, and safety Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal specials Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste Assist in maintaining a positive team environment through effective communication and leadership Support the team during service by cooking and plating dishes as required

Requirements



Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant environment Strong knowledge of food production techniques and culinary practices Experience in supervising and managing kitchen staff effectively Excellent cooking skills with a passion for creating high-quality dishes Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team Previous experience in hospitality is advantageous
