We are seeking an experienced and passionate Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have background in food production and kitchen management, demonstrating excellent leadership skills and a commitment to food safety. As a Junior Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen, supporting the Head Chef & team in delivering high-quality dishes that reflect our restaurant's standards and ethos.
Duties
Assist the Head Chef & team in overseeing daily kitchen operations and managing kitchen staff.
Supervise food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency and quality.
Collaborate with team members to create innovative menu items while maintaining established recipes.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Participate in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for seasonal offerings.
Handle food presentation and plating to meet restaurant standards before service.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant environment, showcasing strong culinary skills.
Supervising experience with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team effectively.
Solid knowledge of food production techniques, preparation methods, and cooking styles.
Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices within the hospitality industry.
Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of food service.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with team members and management.
