Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background and experience in food production, as well as the ability to lead and manage a team effectively. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of food quality and safety while supporting the Head Chef in daily operations.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and ensuring smooth service. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to enhance their skills. Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications. Ensure that all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and standards. Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety guidelines. Assist in scheduling staff shifts and managing kitchen workflow during peak service times.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably within a restaurant environment. Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and supervision. Excellent cooking skills with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Previous experience in hospitality is desirable, along with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. A culinary qualification or equivalent experience is preferred.
