We are seeking a dedicated Junior Sous to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety, and supporting the senior management team. Responsibilities
Assist in supervising kitchen staff and ensuring efficient team management during service
Support food production processes, including preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations
Oversee daily kitchen operations in the absence of senior management
Ensure all food is prepared according to specified recipes and quality standards
Assist in training new staff members and providing ongoing support to team members
Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control to minimise waste
Uphold excellent customer service standards by supporting serving staff when necessary
Contribute to menu development ideas and presentation enhancements
Skills
Proven supervising experience within a food production or hospitality environment
Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations
Leadership qualities with the ability to manage a team effectively
Sound knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
Experience working in restaurants or similar hospitality settings is highly desirable
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
Knowledge of food service procedures, including serving standards and customer interaction
