Sargasso is currently recruiting for an experienced Sous Chef / Junior Sous Chef role.
We are on the lookout for someone who shares our passion for quality ingredient led cooking. Our kitchen team has years of experience in some of the best restaurants in the UK and we are keen to help the right person grow along side our newly expanding team. Job Types: Full-time

Hours: 45 per week

Responsibilities



Assist the head chef and senior sous chef in planning and executing daily menu operations, ensuring consistency and quality. Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance monitoring to foster a motivated team. Oversee food production processes, ensuring all dishes meet established standards for presentation, taste, and safety. Prepare a variety of dishes with skill and precision, adhering to recipes and portion controls. Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in compliance with health regulations. Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction. Manage inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and minimise waste through efficient stock control. Support the development of new menu items in collaboration with the head chef. Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and report any issues promptly.

Requirements



Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment. Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques. Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example and motivate staff. Solid understanding of food safety standards and hygiene regulations. Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods. Culinary experience that demonstrates creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for excellence. Knowledge of serving procedures and customer service principles is advantageous. Pay: 36,000.00-38,000.00 per year
