Looking for a new challenge? We are seeking a passionate and skilled Junior Sous Chef to join our team and help us continue to deliver outstanding food and service at our pub and beachside restaurant in Porthtowan, on the North Cornwall Coast.

As a Junior Sous, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen team in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a talented and motivated chef wanting to take their skills to the next level and take on increased responsibility in a busy environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the team in all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu preparation, menu development, and food presentation. Ensure all food preparation and cooking adheres to the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and safety. Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory management. Contribute to the development of new dishes and menu items, utilizing seasonal ingredients and local produce. Work collaboratively with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless experience for guests.
Skills and Experience:

Proven experience as a Junior Sous Chef or similar position, with a strong understanding of culinary techniques and principles. Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards. Strong organizational and time management skills. Creative and innovative approach to food preparation and presentation. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
