What will you be doing?

As a detail-oriented Junior System Engineer, you will join in Bristol our defence-focused team. As a Junior System Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to assist in the design, development, and implementation of complex defence systems. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to contribute to cutting-edge defence technologies and gain valuable experience in the field.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to contribute to the design and development of defense systems, including communication systems, radar systems, command and control systems, and more.
  • Assist in requirements analysis, system architecture design, and trade-off studies to ensure optimal system performance and functionality.
  • Support the integration of various subsystems, components, and modules within larger defence systems.
  • Participate in system testing, verification, and validation activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and operational requirements.
  • Aid in the preparation of technical documentation, including system specifications, test plans, and reports.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during the development, testing, and deployment phases.
  • Stay informed about advancements in defence technologies and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to team meetings and project reviews, providing insights and updates on assigned tasks.
  • Actively engage in continuous learning and skill development to enhance your technical capabilities.

Experience, skills and qualifications required:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in systems engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong passion for defence technologies and a desire to contribute to the development of advanced defence systems.
  • Basic understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements analysis, system architecture, and integration.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools and software used in system design and analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Prior experience with defence projects, internships, or relevant coursework is a plus.
  • Eligibility for security clearance is desirable.
