About St Andrew's Healthcare
St Andrew's Healthcare is a charity providing specialist mental health services. We work in close partnership with the NHS and other organisations to deliver a wide range of inpatient and community-based care for people with complex mental health needs.
As a charity, we reinvest every penny of our surplus into improving facilities, training, services, and innovation. Joining us means joining a team dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals.
About the Role
We're looking for a curious and driven
Junior Analyst Developer
to join our Clinical Applications Team, where you'll help us improve and build systems that directly support the delivery of care. This is a hands-on development role working with both internal teams and external vendors to deliver, enhance, and integrate systems across the charity.
In this role, you'll:
Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of internal applications
Help build and improve system interfaces (including those using HL7 and other healthcare standards)
Develop automation solutions using tools like Python and Selenium
Write and modify front-end elements using HTML and ASP
Work with structured data formats such as JSON and XML
Support exploratory work using AI tools, including OpenAI and prompt engineering
Collaborate with analysts and clinicians to translate needs into working digital solutions
Maintain and enhance documentation, testing scripts, and user instructions
What We're Looking For
We're open to candidates at the start of their development career, or with some experience in a technical role. You don't need to know everything on day one -- but you'll bring:
Some familiarity with programming or scripting languages (e.g. Python, ASP)
An understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
An interest in APIs and integration concepts (e.g. HL7, REST, JSON, XML)
Microsoft 365 tools as well as skills in SQL query writing
Willingness to explore new technologies, including AI and automation tools
Basic understanding of software development practices
Strong problem-solving skills and logical thinking
A collaborative approach and good communication skills
Experience with AI tools (e.g. OpenAI APIs) or an interest in prompt engineering would be an advantage, but training and mentoring will be provided.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their career in development within a meaningful, mission-driven environment.
We offer an excellent benefits package including:
