Job Overview

We are looking for a suitably qualified individual to live in rent-free. In exchange for free accommodation, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team for a minimum of 10 hours per week. which gives time for an individual to work full-time or study full-time. The ideal candidate should be a flexible individual, perhaps studying Animal management, Veterinary or Veterinary Nurse and will have a genuine love for animals and a strong commitment to providing exceptional care. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of the animals in our care while maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Duties

Provide routine care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs Clean and sanitise kennels, play areas, and equipment to maintain hygiene standards. Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to management. Assist with administering medications as directed by management Support management at vet visits during examinations or treatments as needed. Attend various training classes for behaviour and Ringcraft Attend dog shows as and when required

Skills

Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger breeds or moving supplies. Experience in animal care or training to be a veterinary or veterinary nurse is essential DBS check Full driving licence A genuine passion for animal welfare and the ability to work compassionately with various breeds and temperaments.
