THE KENNELS ARE IN A RURAL LOCATION, THEREFORE OWN TRANSPORT IS REQUIRED.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dog loving individual to join our team.
Applicants must be hard working and reliable and have previous experience working with animals
Level 3 in Animal Management or Level 2 in Animal Care, desirable but not essential
Be able to work unsupervised and confident in a customer facing role. Must have the ability to work individually and as part of a team.
The duty of a Kennel Assistant includes a wide range of tasks such as:
Keeping kennels clean and hygienic, changing and washing the bedding
Bathing and brushing the dogs
Preparing food for the dogs and feeding them this includes administrating of medication if needed
Keeping the dogs physically active by exercising them in our outdoor areas
Cleaning and maintaining a safe work place
Cleaning and refilling of all water bowls regularly throughout the day
Have a duty of care for the dog's wellbeing.
Our working day starts at 8.00am and finishes at 6.00pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am to 5.00pm Saturday and Sunday - this will include weekends, Bank holidays, Easter, Christmas & New Year Day
The successful candidate hours will be 41.5 hours over 5 days including a weekend day with an hour unpaid lunch and two 15 minute breaks unpaid
Please note that anyone aged of 18 to 20 will be paid the applicable national minimum wage and people 21 and over will be paid the applicable national living wage from the 1st April 2025
