Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing excellent service to both pets and their owners. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of animals in our care while maintaining a clean and safe environment.

The position requires between 30 - 36 hours a week per week consisting of 4 days in the week (7am - 12/1pm or 12 - 6pm) and a full day on a weekend (8am - 6pm) - Likely to be a Saturday.

Duties



Provide daily care for both dogs and cats, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and other facilities to ensure a hygienic environment. Monitor the health and behaviour of animals and reporting any concerns. Assist with administering medications as directed. Engage with pet owners, providing updates on their pets and addressing any questions or concerns. Handle heavy lifting when required, such as moving large bags of food or cleaning equipment. Answering the phone and dealing with enquiries Handling cash Admin / Office duties Walking small and large dogs around the surrounding areas independantly

Experience



Previous experience is highly desirable but not essential; a genuine love for animals is crucial. Experience in animal care or related fields is beneficial. Strong customer service skills are necessary to effectively communicate with pet owners and provide exceptional care.
