Kennel Assistant, North Wales

Wagtail UK are a successful and hardworking kennels dedicated to the care of specialist detection dogs, located in North Wales. We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic Kennel assistant to join our team of dedicated staff. All assistants fulfil a vital role in the kennels. Previous experience working in a kennel environment is essential and applicants should be competent handling a wide range of breeds. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with dogs and is used to working in a busy kennel establishment. The position is for weekend work. This is a physically demanding role working in all weathers where your main roles and responsibilities will include:

Kennel Assistant Roles

Animal Husbandry: Kennel Cleaning, Exercising Dogs, Feeding, administering medication etc. Dog grooming Attending Vet appointment Be competent in completing daily paperwork Ensuring that our high levels of cleanliness are maintained DIY and general maintenance of the kennel grounds Various kennel related tasks

Experience and Skills required:

Experience in an animal boarding establishment Preferred experience on an animal studies course focusing on welfare, health and behaviour. Be confident working with a variety of breeds and dogs with various behavioural issues Excellent communication skills and a friendly approachable manner Ability to problem solve and work in a fast-paced environment A candidate who can use Initiative and be willing to have a hands-on approach Proactivity and enthusiasm Baseline Personnel Security checks are required for this position UK Driving Licence Required

What will I receive in return?

Salary:

10.00-12.21 per hour, hourly rate will also vary depending on experience.

Hours of Work:

8-hour shifts, Working Saturday and Sunday. Working hours either 08:00-16:00 or 09:00-17:00 on both Saturday & Sunday.

Location:

Based in Flintshire, North Wales at our training centre

Contract Type:

Part-time, Permanent contract upon completion of probation period
