Kennel Assistant
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the daily care and maintenance of animals in the kennel
- Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their specific needs
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and other animal living areas
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Monitor the behavior and health of animals and report any concerns to supervisors
- Provide basic grooming services such as bathing and brushing
- Assist with the intake and discharge of animals, including proper documentation
- Interact with customers and provide excellent customer service
Requirements:
- Must be over 18 years old due to legislation
- Full Driving Licence
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, as some animals may require assistance or restraint
- Knowledge of basic animal handling is preferred
- Experience in animal care or a related field is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to follow Health & Safety procedures, as we specialise in boarding and caring for dangerous dogs
