Full time assistant manager (with minimum level 3 animal qualification) required for our busy boarding kennels and cattery. Must be confident in handling cats and dogs using positive reinforcement methods.
Responsibilities include:
reporting to and working alongside the kennel & cattery manager to lead a small team of staff in the day to day running of the kennels and cattery
assisting the kennel & cattery manager in training staff
feeding cats & dogs as per individual requirements
administering medication (oral, topical and injectable - training will be given)
Having the experience/knowledge to suitably assess and group dogs from different households for walks (where clients give permission for their dogs to mix)
exercising dogs both individually and in small social groups if appropriate (max 5 dogs per walk)
enrichment/playtime with the cats individually
health checking/ daily wellbeing checks
cleaning kennels and cat pens
basic dog grooming (bathing, drying and brushing)
assisting and forming a good relationship with clients and their pets
driving company vehicle (automatic) for vet visits, collections/deliveries of pets
basic admin duties (training given)
