The Charity Key Account Manager role



As a Charity Key Account Manager, you will play a vital role in managing, maintaining and building relationships between Bluestep and our partners. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure client satisfaction, develop loyalty and drive revenue and gross profit growth by understanding and delivering the clients' needs and effectively communicating with those clients as well as internal teams and suppliers. This role requires a proactive and strategic approach working with autonomy to influence clients while achieving significant results.

Main Responsibilities for the Charity Key Account Manager



As a Charity Key Account Manager, you will be managing a mix of key clients providing them with the full suite of Bluestep's services (design, merchandise, storage and fulfilment). You will immerse yourself within your charities, becoming an extension of their team, providing them with around the clock love & care to the point where these clients cannot imagine life without you.

Client Relationship Management:

Develop and maintain strong relationships with multiple clients, understanding their business goals, pain points, needs and challenges. Act as the main point of contact for clients, speaking to them regularly and ensure their enquiries, issues and requests are addressed promptly. Sensibly managing your client entertaining budget with business goals in mind

Customer Support

: Provide exceptional customer support to address any concerns, troubleshoot problems, and ensure clients receive high-quality service. Conduct regular client feedback sessions to assess their level of satisfaction, gather insights and identify areas for improvement. Address any issues or complaints raised by clients in a timely and efficient manner. Proactively identify potential problems, always having a plan B and work towards solutions to prevent negative experiences

Account Planning

: You have responsibility for creating and implementing a clear and measurable strategy for each client. Setting objectives and milestones for each client. Service clients on multiple levels, anticipating and influencing clients' wants and needs all year round. The emphasis is really being proactive rather than reactive with clients and focusing on spending more time with your clients. You consistently deliver growth by selling Bluestep's full suite of services across multiple charity departments such as community, challenge, individual giving, gaming, facebook fundraising and 3rd party. This will be measurable by the value and quantity of orders placed with you

Reporting:

You are adept at reporting and updating relevant sheets that provide updates to the business on performance of your client base. You understand targets along with your performance against these. You are able to articulate any movements, opportunities and risks week on week

Commercial Acumen:

Consistently achieve financial goals, in relation, but not limited to turnover and GP margin targets. Overall contributes to the commercial success of the business while positively contributing to the company ethos. Clearly focuses on successful order conversions, with margin in mind

Negotiation

: Negotiate terms and pricing with both suppliers and clients to maximize profitability for both the company and the client

Communication:

You are the bridge between both internal Bluestep teams and external client teams, collating information and using your knowledge to inform your clients. You are articulate and clear in your delivery, creating critical paths to manage complex projects seamlessly highlighting changes along the way. You manage stakeholders effectively, keeping the Charity Account Director up to speed with client plans and escalating any potential risks to the business through regular conversations and follow ups

Bulk Orders/Stock Portal:

You accurately deliver client bulk orders navigating the lifecycle of the bulk ordering process. Where applicable you utilise Bluestep's stock management portal to influence client orders

Account Executive support

: You offer support to the Account Executive(s) with guidance and advice, demonstrating company best practices all the time. Assisting on client calls demonstrating best practice in generating rapport and collecting relevant information to best influence the project with example follow up. You positively influence the wider team and regularly feed back to the Charity Account Director on progress or areas of improvement

Autonomy:

There is the expectation that as Key Account Manager you are able to successfully manage your day-to-day workload and have a proactive behaviour to clients. This will include spending quality time working from client's offices and attending their events as you become an extension of their team. You will have support from the Charity Account Director when required and in providing strategic guidance and support to deliver complex projects

Social Media Activity:

You continually develop your professional profile on LinkedIn - positively engaging with clients and industry professionals while contributing to the business's social media posts and projects. You promote successful campaigns and are constantly looking for ways to shout about projects you have been involved in

Overall, you will be responsible for building unbreakable relationships with clients and becoming a significant contributor to the overall growth and success of the company. Effective communication, incredible organisation, and a strong demonstration of commercial acumen are crucial for success in this role.

Variation may occur to the duties and responsibilities at the request of the Managing Director without changing the general character of the post. Any variation will be discussed first.

Charity Key Account Manager Experience & Knowledge



University Bachelor's Degree level in a relevant field Experience working for/with charities and a knowledge base to understand how they operate and what their needs will be (desirable) Client-facing experience, loves to get on the phone to speak to contacts and has a natural ability to present and nurture relationships (essential) At least 3 years' experience of account management, customer service or a related field (essential) Previous employment in design/promotional merchandise businesses or associated roles (desirable) Proven track record of developing customer relationships and spend Previous dealings with supply chains Technology proficient (Microsoft Excel and CRM systems such as Synergist)
