SensorStory is a small, friendly team delivering Montessori-prepared parent-and-child classes for babies and toddlers from birth to three. Our mission is to support the natural development of the whole child through beautiful environments, purposeful play, and calm, confidence-building routines.
The Opportunity
We are looking for
Lead Guides
and
Assistant Guides
to create joyful, memorable classes for little ones and their grown-ups. The right candidate does not need formal qualifications. If you are kind, confident, and love working with families, we will teach you the rest.
Our new activity guides will start with weekday work; one morning, with the ability to extend hours and/or days and progress further after initial probation, should you wish to.
As part of SensorStory's commitment to ongoing staff training and development we also offer optional further training and qualifications as well as bursary's to help pay for further training.
What you will do
Prepare a Montessori-inspired environment and deliver small-group sensory sessions
Model warm, respectful interactions and clear class routines
Engage parents with simple guidance they can use at home
Set up and pack away class materials with care, maintaining safety and cleanliness
Communicate with families and the team with professionalism and warmth
Champion exceptional customer service at every touchpoint
Roles
Lead Guide
Lead the session from welcome to goodbye
Hold class flow, songs, demonstrations, and transitions
Coach and coordinate the assistant, ensure environment quality and safety
Assistant Guide
Set up and reset activities
Demonstrate materials and support children and parents
Help maintain calm rhythm and safety throughout the session
You are
Warm, confident, and naturally great with young children and parents
Professional, punctual, and reliable
A clear communicator, happy to sing in front of a group
Curious about Montessori and early years development
We are particularly interested in speaking with people that have a background as:
Early Years Practitioner
Drama Teacher
Fitness Instructor
Football / Sports Coach
Sports Leader
Playworker
GTP or PGCE Students
Trainee Teacher
Drama Student
For this role, a driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential
Training and Progression
Full training provided, in person and online
Ongoing coaching and class observations
Uniform provided
Opportunities to take on nurseries, parties, and private events
Clear pathway from Assistant to Lead for the right candidate
Requirements
Weekday morning availability
Be a loud presence and confident leading in front of children and adults
Excellent verbal communication skills
Full UK driving licence and access to a car
Ability to transport and store class materials between sessions
Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one
Available to work all year round (not suitable for students leaving town for long periods over summer)

Starting Hours:
Part-time weekday hours. Additional hours available in the future.
Mornings 9-12 with additional weekday and weekend mornings becoming optionally available.
Hourly wage:
Competitive pay of 8 - 17 depending on age, position (assistant/lead), responsibilities (kit holder) and previous experience
