Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a keen interest in the catering industry. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our kitchen operations, ensuring that all food safety standards are met while assisting with meal preparation and other kitchen tasks.

Duties

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring. Support chefs and cooks in various culinary tasks to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and utensils. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are maintained. Help with catering events by preparing meals according to specified menus and dietary requirements. Monitor stock levels of kitchen supplies and report any shortages to management. Participate in training sessions to improve culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm for culinary arts is key. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and catering practices. Understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as required. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends if necessary.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 30 per week
