We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff with meal preparation, food safety practices, and ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of meals and ingredients according to recipes and dietary requirements. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Support chefs with cooking tasks and catering services during events or busy periods. Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to, including proper storage and handling of food items. Help with serving meals to customers or guests as required. Participate in inventory management by assisting with stock rotation and reporting any shortages. Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, particularly in catering or restaurant settings. Basic culinary skills with an understanding of meal preparation techniques. Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices is essential. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. A positive attitude towards learning new skills and taking on responsibilities. Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
