We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff with food preparation and ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about food safety and have an interest in the culinary arts, whether in a restaurant, catering, or other food service environments.

Responsibilities

Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as directed by chefs or cooks. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen. Help with the cleaning and sanitising of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces. Support chefs during busy service periods by preparing ingredients and assisting with plating dishes. Participate in the organisation of the kitchen to ensure efficient workflow. Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to supervisors. Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Familiarity with food safety standards and practices is highly desirable. Experience in meal preparation or catering settings will be considered an asset. A passion for cooking and an eagerness to develop culinary skills are essential traits for success in this role.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.21-12.22 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 30 per week
