Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation and ensure that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene while supporting the chefs in delivering exceptional meals for our patrons.

Responsibilities



Assist with food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients for various dishes. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all surfaces are sanitised and tidy. Help with meal preparation for catering events and daily restaurant service. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food is stored, handled, and prepared safely. Support cooks in cooking tasks as required, ensuring timely delivery of meals. Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen supervisor. Participate in cleaning duties after service, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Collaborate with team members to ensure a harmonious working environment.

Requirements



Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Basic knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques is advantageous. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards helping others. Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including evenings and weekends. A passion for cooking and an eagerness to develop culinary skills further.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.21-12.50 per hour
