Overview -

We are seeking an enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our nursery team in Ascot. The successful candidate will work directly with the Chef, ensuring smooth operation of our kitchen by supporting in meal preparation, organisation of mealtimes, kitchen cleanliness, and the maintenance effective record keeping, in line with food safety guidelines. This position is perfect for individuals with school aged children looking to work within a kitchen environment.

Duties

Assist in the preparation of meals. Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen. Help with the storage and inventory management of food supplies, ensuring proper rotation and adherence to food safety standards. Assist with ensuring cutlery and crockery is ready for mealtimes. Assist with post meal clean up Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods.

Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Basic culinary skills with an understanding of meal preparation techniques. Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards is preferred. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills to interact with kitchen staff and other team members effectively.

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 30 per week
