We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff with meal preparation and food safety practices. Duties

Assist chefs and cooks in the preparation of meals, ensuring all ingredients are prepped and ready for use. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food is stored and handled correctly, minimising the risk of contamination. Help with catering services as required, including setting up and breaking down food stations for events. Support the team during busy service periods by efficiently managing tasks and communicating effectively with colleagues. Participate in inventory management by assisting with stock rotation and reporting any shortages or issues to the kitchen manager.

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Basic knowledge of meal preparation techniques and culinary skills would be advantageous. Understanding of food safety standards and practices is highly desirable. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards helping others in the kitchen. Flexibility to work various shifts, including Saturdays
