We are looking for a part-time kitchen assistant to join our team. Experience of working in a kitchen environment is preferred.

We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic team member to join our hospitality team. This role requires flexibility, teamwork, and a commitment to providing excellent service in a fast-paced environment. Availability during busy periods, including weekends, is essential, as shifts will vary depending on business needs.

In addition to the standard responsibilities of a kitchen assistant role, team member will also be required to take on additional tasks. These may include end of day cleaning, cleaning of dining areas, taking out bins, and ensuring overall cleanliness across the premises. Attention to detail is crucial, ensuring that all areas are kept to a high standard and that customers receive a consistently excellent experience. Supporting the team in all aspects of daily operations is key, as no task is too big or too small. Own initiative and problem-solving skills will be valuable in ensuring smooth operations, and as candidates become more confident and familiar with our working practices, they may be required to lead shifts when necessary.

The ideal candidate will be able to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills and a proactive approach. The ability to remain calm under pressure and work at a fast pace in a hot kitchen environment is essential, along with a positive attitude, patience, and a keen eye for detail. The below is an indication of the main areas of responsibility of the post holder. It is not an exhaustive list of duties:
- food preparation, such as washing, peeling, chopping, cutting ingredients;
- light cooking and food serving;
- Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen area, including washing up;
- Monitoring and replenishing stock levels as needed;
- end of day cleaning duties, as required.

The Boatyard is a busy summer pub located in Bridgnorth. Working hours are between 11am/12pm and approx. 6/7pm over 7 days/week - based on a weekly rota. Weekend availability is essential. A trial shift will be arranged for the right candidate.

Applicants must be available to work both weekdays and most weekends (inc. bank holidays).

Part-time hours: approx. 10-20 hours over 2-3 days, depending on the rota.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 10.00-12.21 per hour
