Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation Support
Assist chefs with basic food preparation (e.g., chopping vegetables, making sandwiches, plating dishes).
Ensure ingredients are stored correctly and rotated (FIFO - First In, First Out).
Prepare simple meals and snacks under supervision.
Cleaning & Hygiene
Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment using manual or industrial dishwashers.
Keep food preparation areas, storage rooms, and service areas clean and sanitised.
Dispose of waste safely, following food hygiene regulations.
Maintain compliance with Food Safety and Health & Safety standards (including HACCP).
Stock & Supplies
Assist with unloading deliveries and putting stock away.
Check stock levels and report shortages to supervisors.
Keep storerooms and fridges organised.
General Kitchen Support
Help set up dining areas and service counters.
Assist with serving food and drinks when required.
Work as part of the catering team to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
