Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting meal preparation and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly. Duties

Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and preparing ingredients for cooking. Help with food preparation tasks, ensuring all items are ready for the cooking process. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food is handled and stored correctly. Support chefs and cooks during service by providing timely assistance as needed. Participate in catering events as required, helping to set up and serve food. Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting any shortages.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential; enthusiasm for culinary arts is key. Basic knowledge of food safety standards and practices is preferred. Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment, demonstrating good communication skills. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation tasks. Willingness to learn and adapt to new cooking techniques and kitchen procedures. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
