Care is Central Residential is seeking motivated and passionate Kitchen Assistants to join the team at our newly built, state-of-the-art, luxury residential care home in the heart of Leighton Buzzard. This home is one of only two in the UK designed to meet Passivhaus standards, making it highly energy-efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly.
As a Kitchen Assistant you will support the kitchen team to serve delicious, well-balanced and nutritious meals that our residents will love. Working as part of a team, you will help to provide a high-quality food service to support our residents' wellbeing. You will maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and will assist during the food preparation process. There will be many opportunities for you to get to know our residents and to develop your skills.
Job Role:
To provide a high-quality catering and dining experience to all residents, guests, and visitors. To ensure that all catering areas are maintained in a hygienic, clean, and safe standard. To follow the operational procedures of the kitchen.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Helping to prepare delicious, high-quality food that delights our clients and customers
Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness of the kitchen and surrounding areas
Ensuring the correct use of all machinery and equipment
Assisting with the loading or unloading of deliveries and supply vehicles
Complying with Food Handling & Hygiene standards
Complying with Health & Safety regulations
Ensure all cooking utensils and pots are cleaned to the required standards
Carry out any tasks assigned by the Head / Second Chef or Home Manager
Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar role
Level 2 Health and Safety (will be provided)
To be eligible to work in the UK
Will to undertake food hygiene level 2 training
Infection control training
Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) training
A team player
Positive attitude, personable
Awareness of care home regulations and requirements
Have an understanding of allergies, intolerances and modified diets.
