Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team working within children's day care nursery . The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff in meal preparation and ensuring a clean and efficient kitchen environment. This position is perfect for individuals with a passion for food and a desire to develop their culinary skills within a dynamic and fast-paced setting.

Duties

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients. Support the cooking staff by preparing meals according to established recipes and standards for 3 nurseries Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal service. Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages

Requirements

Previous kitchen experience is preferred, particularly in a catering. Basic cooking skills with an understanding of meal preparation techniques. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy kitchen setting. A positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced culinary professionals. Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues. A passion for food and cooking, coupled with a desire to grow within the culinary field.
