Chellaston Infant and Junior Schools are two large, friendly schools catering for pupils between the ages of 4 and 11.
We are looking to recruit a Kitchen Assistant to join our hardworking and supportive catering team. Our school kitchens play a vital role in the day-to-day life of our pupils, providing healthy, nutritious meals that help children to learn, play and thrive.
We are seeking a cheerful, reliable and flexible individual who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in creating a welcoming and well-run lunchtime environment. You will help to prepare and serve meals, keep the kitchen and dining areas clean and organised, and support our commitment to healthy eating.
You will play an important part in ensuring that all our children have a calm and enjoyable lunchtime experience, both in the dining hall and beyond. As part of your role, you'll also help set up and clear the hall ready for afternoon activities such as PE and assemblies.
You will need to be available to work over the lunchtime period during term time. Successful candidates may be deployed at either the Infant or Junior school site.
This is a lovely opportunity to be part of a warm, child-centred school community that values teamwork, wellbeing, and the difference a good meal can make in a child's day.
On the application form, please focus on a detailed 'supporting statement' taking into account the person specification and indicating why you would be the best person for us to recruit to this position.
If you would like further information and require an informal conversation or visit, please telephone or email our school office at 01332 701460 or admin@chellastonjunior.org
The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post, will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Safeguarding checks will be undertaken during the recruitment process and this may include online searches.
We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion.
Closing date for applications is 12:00PM on Friday 8th August 2025.
Interviews to be held on Tuesday 12th August 2025.
