Job Summary:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our team at our busy padel tennis centre in Mudeford. The role involves supporting the Kitchen Manager in preparing and serving grab-and-go items, light meals, and hot food options while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and customer service. You'll also assist the bar and front-of-house teams during busy periods, helping to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all members and guests.
Kitchen Operations and Food Preparation
Assist with the preparation, cooking, and presentation of menu items to a consistent standard.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation in all kitchen areas, following hygiene and food safety protocols.
Support with stock rotation, deliveries, and food storage to minimise waste and maintain freshness.
Ensure compliance with food safety, allergen, and HACCP regulations.
Help set up and close down the kitchen in line with daily procedures.
Oversee the above during absence of the Kitchen Manager
Teamwork and Communication
Work closely with the Kitchen Manager, bar, and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
Follow instructions accurately and contribute to a positive, supportive team environment.
Communicate effectively during service to help maintain efficient operations.
Bar & Hospitality Support
Assist bar staff during busy times, including serving drinks (training provided if required).
Ensure smooth communication between kitchen and bar to maintain efficient service flow.
Uphold high customer service standards across all hospitality areas.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Maintain up-to-date food hygiene knowledge and follow all health and safety guidelines.
Complete daily cleaning and temperature checks as required.
Report any maintenance or equipment issues promptly.
Qualifications & Skills:
Applicants must be aged 18 or over, due to bar service responsibilities.
Previous experience as working in a kitchen, cafe, or hospitality environment preferred.
Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate desirable).
Good organisational and teamwork skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Positive attitude and a willingness to learn and take direction.
Positive, team-oriented attitude with a passion for delivering great customer experiences.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, early mornings and during events as required.
