We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant/cook with a passion for cooking and great team work to join our crew at our Tigers site in DAVENTRY. We are offering part time,

working every weekend, except for pre-booked holidays

, with additional hours available for school holidays, bank holidays and additional week days for holiday cover.

In this role, you will be required to prepare and cook food for our customers, you will not be required to make meals from scratch, as we are similar to other fast food outlets, so food preparation has been made to be efficient.

This role would involve working day shifts between 10am and 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays, plus additional days for staff holidays, school holidays and sickness cover. You WILL NEED some experience of cooking and working in a commercial kitchen. Full training will be given in all aspects of the role. For this role, we expect quality of work and good hygiene standards, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

You will also be required, during quieter times, to assist our team of General Assistants in the front of house, and also to join them at the end of each session for pot wash and table clearing.

The key responsibilities of our Kitchen Assistant include:



Preparing and presenting food in line with the current menu Preparation of food including salads, sandwiches, Toasties, Panini's & chips Assisting with preparation of meals for the children in our party room Prepare food in accordance to special dietary requirements Ensure all food in the fridge is covered, rotated, dated and labelled Working with the kitchen team to ensure our customers are presented with their meal to a high standard and on time. Accept, check and storage of food deliveries from suppliers Maintain and monitor the efficiency of the fridge/freezer by monitoring and recording the temperature to meet food and hygiene requirements General cleaning and tidying of the kitchen and food areas. The Kitchen Assistant role involves undertaking duties aimed at providing a clean, tidy and hygienic kitchen environment. Understand the principles of safe food handling to ensure all food preparation undertaken in the kitchen is to the highest standards of hygiene. You will be required to will also be required to cover holidays & sickness for the other Kitchen Assistants Can work under pressure Must be reliable Good team player Cheerful attitude Willing to undergo training Experience of working in high volume food service would be advantageous but not essential Knowledge and understanding of kitchen health, safety and hygiene rules would be advantageous but not essential Holding a relevant food safety qualification would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided
Hours: approx 16 per week, with additional shifts available during the week for school holidays and holiday cover.

Salary: From 10:00 to 12.21 per hour depending on age and experience.
