LifeCare Edinburgh requires a Kitchen Assistant for our busy community cafe, Cafe Life, based in Stockbridge Edinburgh.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, able to interact with a variety of users of our community cafe and have experience of working in the hospitality sector. This is a hands-on kitchen job, where you will gain experience in every aspect of our busy community cafe.
The role includes
Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of the Kitchen, one of the key responsibilities of the position. This includes washing utensils, cleaning surfaces and equipment, and ensuring the kitchen is up to health and safety and food hygenie standards.
Supporting the kitchen team
: From washing dishes to prepping ingredients to rotating stock, you will provide vital assistance to our chefs to make sure they have everything on hand to deliver the food for our customers.
Assisting in food prep
: From chopping veg to setting up dishes, you'll help with basic food prep and support the team in getting our meals out to both our clients and customers.
The hours of work will be 20 hours per week, hours of work are set below:
Monday to Friday 11am to 3pm.
Hourly pay rate will be Living Wage rate of 12.60 per hour. This post is a fixed term 12 month contract.
