We are seeking a young, enthusiastic, food-passionate individual to join our small yet efficient kitchen team. Sailbox is a widely respected breakfast and brunch bar with one of the best views of the English channel in Kent! You will help to prepare stock/products for dishes and menu items. You will assist in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness within the kitchen throughout shift and service. You

Must

have a passion for food and be able to work in very fast paced environments, producing quality dishes to the correct standards. This is a good opportunity for someone who wants to learn kitchen skills and improve their current knowledge. This is a summer time position that can lead to increased hours for the right person.

Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation according to recipes. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workspaces, ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Support fellow kitchen staff during meal preparation and cooking processes. Serve meals to customers, ensuring timely delivery and presentation. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and assist in catering events as needed. Wash up during shifts and clean down in between quiet periods. Label stock

correctly

and ensure fridges are correctly organised and stock is put away

correctly.

Help communicate with

FOH

throughout the day. Empty bins and remove any access cardboard, make sure its disposed of correctly and taken off site. Wear the correct

PPE

(provided by us). Follow correct cleaning procedures Follow correct food safety procedures. Open and close the kitchen, following checklists. Record correctly fridge temperatures and food temperatures throughout the day.

Qualifications

Experience in kitchens

(Preferred)

. Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to work in fast paced environments. Ability to assist in meal preparation and serving Excellent teamwork and communication skills A strong passion for cooking and providing quality food service Work together well as a team as well as being able to focus on individual tasks when instructed to.
You will receive all training on site.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 7.55-12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 35 per week
